Job Overview: 

We are growing our multi-talented team, and looking for an experienced and motivated Vice President, Model Risk Management to join our Product team, and help shape the model governance strategy and framework for our cutting-edge, artificial intelligence-powered products related to AML/BSA/OFAC, Name Screening, Transaction Screening and AML Transaction Monitoring processes.

Tasks include

  • Leading the overall Model Risk Management framework for Silent Eight’s AI and ML models, primarily focused on Name Screening, Transaction Screening and AML Transaction Monitoring. 
  • Develop and implement best in class model management framework, including overall model design and validation documentation, policies and procedures.
  • Manage the end to end model management lifecycle, including model design and conceptual soundness, model selection, coding, testing and validation, change management, assumptions, risks and mitigation plans.
  • Provide consultation to the internal team to build the AI and ML models driving transparency, explainability and with detailed documentation for our global clients. 
  • Manage the ongoing appropriateness of our models and framework in context of the latest market developments, industry trends, and internal strategic objectives. 
  • Engagement with the clients and their model risk management teams, industry partners and external regulators to demonstrate the overall model design, solution approach, operational soundness, model validation and risk management process.
  • Stay current with technology trends, including methodologies, statistical and analytical techniques and trends related to model management and development across the Financial industry, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions landscape.


  • 8+ years of experience in financial institutions, technology or consulting roles, within the model risk management function, focusing on designing, analyzing, testing and/or validating financial crime and compliance solutions across AML Monitoring, Name Screening, Sanctions / Payments Screening or Fraud detection.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry best practices and regulatory mandates, specifically for quantitative and qualitative model risk management.
  • Experience with the implementation, testing and evaluation of financial crime and compliance systems, such as Mantas, Detica, Actimize, Fircosoft, Netreveal, etc.
  • Academic qualifications and hands-on experience with the model management for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions is preferred.
  • Proven track record of model risk management, across quantitative and statistical techniques as it pertains to AML/BSA/OFAC models, including name matching, classification, segmentation, accuracy testing, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, neural networks, decision trees, regression, etc.
  • Ability to prepare highly technical and detailed written white-papers, documents and presentations for clients, Model Risk teams and key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency using modeling tools such as SAS, R, and Python.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think out of the box to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Ability to prioritize a diverse workload with multiple deadlines.
